Our day trip to the Lasithi plateau starts at 08.30am and takes you to all 18 villages which surround this scenic Plateau which is at an average of 1000 metres above sea level. There you'll experience Cretan Hospitality at its best. Guests who would like to see the cave of Dikteon Andron have this option and must pay extra for entrance to the cave. The Dikteon Cave (or Dikteon Andron or Dictaean Cave) is one of the most important and famous caves in Crete. A traditional lunch with home made wine, follows. After having lunch, we continue our trip to Agios Nicolaos where you will see gorgeous views of lake Voulismeni which is in the center of the town. You can enjoy a relaxing walk and discover this beautiful town and its people. We then drive up the hill to Elounda. Elounda is a place that can only be experienced personally, to live forever thereafter in your dreams! From Elounda and the small fishing villiage Plaka, you'll have fantastic views of the old Venetian fort Spinalonga. Spinalonga is a small island near Elounda and used to be an old Venetian fort built in 1579. It is also known as the Leper Island, as that is where lepers from Crete and the rest of Greece were quarantined until 1957. Our trip ends here with traditional greek coffee in Plaka, and then we drive you safely back to your hotel.
